President Obama

I don't even think it has really hit me yet.

I was putting away my laundry at 10 pm central time and then "Breaking News: CNN projects President-Elect Barack Obama" flashed across the tv screen. The clothes dropped on the floor and I jumped up and down with screams and laughter.

My face hurts from smiling so much. And I can't stop crying.

I am privileged to have witnessed this moment in history.

Soula and I were watching him speak. The tears started, and every time I wipe them away they come back. All I can think about is that I can do anything. I can do ANYTHING.

My daddy always told me I had to work three times as hard in this world to be considered just as good because I was born with two strikes against me.

But this black woman knows for sure, that she can do anything.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.



I hope people are ready for me when I walk through their front door.
