This is the first in a series of posts by SLMDances, as we process our recent participation in the Dancing Diaspora conference in February 2014.
---
A cloud of greatness seemed to hover gracefully and peacefully over the conference. Oozing with intellect, virtuosity, and blackness there was a collective rhythm that everyone danced to. My mind map is how I captured the layers upon layers of rich culture of the Dancing the African Diaspora Conference.---
Starting at the age of nine, Kimberly sought out inspiration in various forms of movement. Studying under Joel Hall, Homer Bryant, The Ailey School and apprenticing with Deeply Rooted, she began to blossom in various techniques. Earning a degree in Marketing from Howard University did not satisfy her yearning to electrify audiences everywhere. Her journey forges on as she continues to understand dance from a political standpoint with Forces Of Nature Dance Theater and Sydnie L. Mosley Dances.
