A Day of Dance for the People

If you've been following me on twitter recently, then you know besides the obsessive ad campaign for The Window Sex Project (by the way, have you registered?), I have been spending inordinate amounts of time in Brooklyn, when I'd much rather be in Harlem. (Dude, I'm plotting to get a CAR-situation, it's so bad.)

Much of the time I've spent in Brooklyn has been working with choreographer Tiffany Spearman, who this spring received a commission from INSPIRIT to create a new work - and now is time for you all to come out and see!

"Social Commentary" is set to premiere this Saturday June 18, 7 pm SHARP! 106 Emerson Place between Park and Myrtle Avenues. (Seriously, come late and you'll miss it.) WE ARE DANCING IN THE STREET! Here's a sneak preview (aka me in rehearsal):

It's a part of a day long block party called A Day of Dance for the People! sponsored by the Popular Culture Dance Project.

Doors @ 2pm - Live performance @ 7pm SHARP!

Music provided by:
Dj Frei of the Ahficianados - Dj Mo Betta - Dj Tru Tones - Dj Phoenix - QueenofSpades

$20 at the door includes refreshments and goodies!

This Event is a fundraiser for PCDP and all support is greatly appreciated. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Project:BECOMING an independent community youth organization.

"Popular Culture Dance Project": The integration of Modern dance into popular culture by allowing the community to enjoy the art form as both an observer and a participant. We aim to promote self- expression with the intention of influencing both creative and critical thinking while also sharing the therapeutic rewards of movement. PCDP is an  organization dedicated to introducing Modern dance to the community as a tool for life.

COME SEE ME DANCE IN THE STREETS OF BROOKLYN!!!
